Fitcheckr Privacy Policy

Written to match Fitcheckr v1 as it actually behaves: no accounts, no email collected, measurements never leaving the device. If you change what the product does, change this first. A drafted policy, not legal advice — if you start taking payment from retailers or operating at scale, have a solicitor read it.
Fitcheckr is a browser extension that helps you compare clothing and judge how a size will fit before you buy. This policy explains what it does with your information.
The short version: your body measurements never leave your device, we do not have accounts, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

What Fitcheckr keeps on your device
These stay on your computer. They are not uploaded, backed up, or synced, and we never send the information itself. Where a short description is worked out from it and sent on — so that the fit advice can be about you — the bullet below says so plainly, and says what that description contains.
- Your body measurements — height, weight, chest, waist, hip, inseam. All optional. Used on your device to work out how a garment will sit on you. Only the resulting description (for example, "expects size L to skim the body") is ever sent onward. The numbers themselves are not.
- Your style profile — as you save and compare items, Fitcheckr keeps count of the kinds of clothes you go for: shapes like boxy or slim, whether you lean relaxed or tailored, the cuts that keep coming up. It is a tally of descriptions, not a list of what you looked at. No product name, no shop, no web address and no date is kept, so it cannot be turned back into a record of your browsing. Only a short summary — a few of those adjectives and how confident we are — is sent onward, to let the fit advice mention when something is or is not your usual thing. You can read it in plain words and reset it under Profile → Your style.
You can delete any of this at any time from within Fitcheckr, and all of it is removed if you uninstall the extension.
What leaves your device
Saved garments, when you are signed in
Fitcheckr keeps your saved garments — the items you have kept to compare later — on your device, and that copy is the one it reads. While you are signed in to a Fitcheckr account it also stores a copy against your account on our server, so your saved items are still there when you use a different browser or computer.
- A saved garment record holds the brand, product name, size, the fit details read from the product page, and a link to it. Nothing else about your visit.
- This happens only for items you deliberately save. Fitcheckr does not record the pages you browse or the products you merely look at.
- If you are signed out, saved items stay on your device and are not uploaded. The panel says so where you save them.
- Deleting a saved item in Fitcheckr deletes it from your account too.
Product information from pages you are viewing
When you use Fitcheckr on a product page, it reads details from that page — the name, brand, price, available sizes, size chart and description — and sends them to our server, which uses OpenAI to interpret how the item is cut and how it compares. We send product information. We do not send a record of your browsing.
Fitcheckr only reads a page when you open it on that page. It does not run in the background, and it does not collect a history of the sites you visit.
Comparison pages, loaded using your own session
When you ask Fitcheckr to compare against an item on another site, it loads that page using your existing session with that retailer — the same cookies your browser already has. This is what lets the comparison reflect the prices and availability you would actually see, including on sites that require you to be signed in.
It means the page we load can contain content personalised to you. That page content is used to read the garment's details and is not stored or logged.
Technical information
Our server receives your IP address with each request, as every internet service does. We use it only to operate the service and to rate-limit abuse. We do not build a profile from it.
What we do not do
- We do not have user accounts, and we do not ask for your email address.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not allow anyone else to.
- We do not track you across websites or build a shopping profile about you.
- We never ask for, receive, or process your photos.
- We do not use your measurements to train AI models.
- We do not know who you are.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers needed to make the product work:

Each acts as our processor and may not use the data for their own purposes.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to investigate fraud, abuse, or a security incident.
How long we keep things
We keep as little as possible:
- Saved garments: kept against your account until you delete them or ask us to close the account.
- Product data: cached briefly to avoid repeating identical work.
- Server logs: retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging, then deleted.
Everything else lives on your device, for as long as you choose to keep it.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO at ico.org.uk).
If you are signed in, the saved garments held against your account are the one thing we keep that is tied to you, and the fastest way to exercise most of these rights is directly in the product: deleting a saved item in Fitcheckr deletes our copy too. Your measurements are on your device only — delete them in Fitcheckr, or uninstall it to remove everything at once. To have an account and everything stored against it deleted outright, write to hello@foster-studio.com and we will do it.
Our lawful basis for processing is your consent, given when you choose to run a comparison. You can withdraw it by stopping use of the feature, or uninstalling.
Children
Fitcheckr is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
International transfers
Our processors operate servers outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. These transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date above and give notice in the extension before the change takes effect.

Your account
If you sign in, we store your email address so we can recognise you across devices. You may sign in with Google, in which case Google tells us your email address and nothing else, or with a one-time code sent to your email.
We store your email address and a session identifier. We do not store passwords. Your session lasts 30 days.
